The Democratic Resilience Initiative strengthens the capacity of subnational institutions to sustain responsive, inclusive, and effective democratic governance.

GSDC is nonpartisan and does not support or oppose political parties or candidates.

Emerging Technology
The Emerging Technology Initiative helps governments understand technological change early enough to prepare their institutions and communities.
The initiative connects public officials with research, expertise, and practical learning on artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.
Areas of focus include:
- technology literacy
- public-sector readiness
- opportunities and risks
- community impacts
- responsible engagement with technology companies
- peer learning among governments

Women's Leadership & Representation
The Women's Leadership & Representation Initiative strengthens pathways for women to enter, remain, advance, and exercise meaningful influence in subnational diplomacy and global governance.
Particular attention is given to women from historically marginalized and underrepresented communities.

Indigenous Leadership & Diplomacy
The Indigenous Leadership & Diplomacy Initiative strengthens opportunities for Indigenous governments, leaders, and knowledge to contribute meaningfully to relevant subnational and global conversations.
GSDC recognizes that the political, legal, constitutional, and sovereign status of Indigenous peoples varies across jurisdictions and respects distinct systems of governance and representation.
